72 Hour Broker Pre-License Course

In order to obtain a broker’s license in Wisconsin, a person must have a salesperson’s license. 

As of July 1, 2014, there has been a requirement to work for 2 years as a salesperson before obtaining a broker’s license (click here for specific details). 

Laurel Stone School of Real Estate offers a quality online BROKER course though a partnership with the Wisconsin Realtors Association.  Knowing that there are students who prefer to attend a live session, there will be several session each year.  If you are choosing to complete the course 100% online, read on, but disregard any reference to the live class. If you change your mind and want to switch to live class sessions, you are welcome to do so at no additional cost.

Classes will be scheduled as needed 3-4 times per year.

ach class will be 4-6 sessions over a 2-week period.
The hours for the class are
9:00 until 1:00 with 2 short breaks.

There is homework outside of class.  This homework is accomplished by answering multiple choice questions on your computer.  Also, there are optional activities such as watching videos, matching vocabulary words with definitions and true/false questions.

Whether you are attending class or completing the course online, the signup process is as follows:

Submit payment of $415.00 includes materials, tax and shipping (The books are included in the course cost and there is no option to purchase the course without the books due to ongoing regulatory changes.)  Having the books is a much preferred method of taking the course as compared to having to print all the materials on your own.

Even though you are coming to class, you will be signed up for the online course so you have access to the activities.  Because of this combination of the online activities and the classroom, should you have to miss some class sessions, the material is easily made up with the online course or you could choose to attend future class sessions.  You have 6 months to complete the course from the date you sign up. When completing the course online there is no 72-hour classroom requirement as your completion of the online exercises is proof that you completed the course. There are no refunds after your course has been ordered.

Upon receiving your payment, you'll receive extensive general information regarding:

  • scheduling the exam with Pearson VUE
  • applying for your license with the Department of Safety and Professional Services
  • logging in to the online course for completion of the homework 

Additionally, you will be provided with assistance to proceed through the course. It can be overwhelming without knowing the best method to approach the material. A checklist provided to you will simplify the study process and target the important concepts to learn to help you successfully pass the real estate exam.
